After Hair Restoration: First Six to Seven Days

I was at a San Diego Chargers game recently and, at halftime, I found myself in a conversation about a hair transplant procedure with a fan sitting in the row in front of me.

I babbled about how hair restoration procedures are an extremely scrupulous and meticulous procedure. After the completion of a hair transplant, it is crucial to regularly keep a watch on and properly care for the transplanted area. A hair restoration center’s way is to have a patient come in for a hair washing the day after his transplant. The hair washing takes about half an hour.

To carefully wash the transplanted hair grafts, a thick shampoo is used. The hair restoration surgeon and the assistants will probably make sure to be gentle and only spread foam and dab the transplanted area. After two minutes, they’ll rinse off the shampoo with water.

The remaining follicles are able to generate new hairs.

To keep scabs from forming, patients are told to wash their hair using a certain technique. It’s important to note several studies have shown that scabbing may prevent transplanted hair growth. After seven days from the day of surgery, there ought not to be any scabs. If scabs still appear after the seven days, it means washing wasn’t done the right way and the patient must start being a bit more aggressive in his washing technique.
